How to Find More Events

Here are the main sources I use to find events for this newsletter. Follow them directly to find even more events!

Getting Started

  • Daybreak Newsletter - Rob Gurwitt writes this newsletter that comes out every weekday morning. It includes curated local news and events. It’s one of the closest things we have to an information hub in the region.

  • Upper Valley Listservs by Vital Communities - There are three lists that cover the entire Upper Valley: one for events, one for goods, and one for services+. There are also smaller lists for many individual towns. I recommend subscribing to the three Upper Valley-wide lists and the list for your town because it can be overwhelming to subscribe to too many.

Next Level

  • Artful by Susan B. Apel - This newsletter covers local arts (theater, museums, etc.), restaurants, and community updates. Artful has been a great resource for me!

  • Local Upper Valley Newsletter by the Upper Valley Business Alliance - This comes out on Fridays and includes posters for upcoming events. They include some business and parks & rec department events that I don’t see on other newsletters.

  • Welcome Wagon by Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation - The Welcome Wagon program connects new UV neighbors with longtime residents. They host casual socials that have great vibes! They also send out a monthly newsletter with upcoming events, including their programming and other cool local events.

  • Valley News

    • VN Newsletter - Sign up for the free Valley News Morning Newsletter to receive an email with the top local headlines every morning. On Friday mornings the newsletter opens with a short list of fun weekend events.

    • VN Events Calendar - The calendar has a ton of events! Some of the listings are for everyday programming by an organization, which I don’t usually cover. It’s a good place to look if you have company in town or you’re looking to see almost everything that’s happening on a specific date.

For People ~20-40 years old

I also subscribe to the email list for individual organizations I like (ex. libraries, AVA Gallery, The Hopkins Center for the Arts, etc.). I’ll update the list above as I find more helpful resources.
